Margaret River is an easy three hour drive from Perth and Loaring Place B&B is ideally located to visit all the attractions in the region. From our B&B, a five minutes drive will take you to the famous Surfers Point at Prevelly Beach or into the town of Margaret River with its many restaurants, galleries, boutiques and speciality shops. Wineries such as Cape Mentelle, Xanadu, Leeuwin, Voyager, Redgate, Watershed, McHenry-Hohnen, Stella Bella and Edwards are also just minutes away. Forest walks, caves, beaches and many other attractions are all within easy reach.
When coming from Perth, ignore any GPS commands that suggest you travel via Mandurah as there is a new Forrest Freeway that bypasses that town. Also ignore any GPS instructions requesting you deviate from Bussell Highway. Instead drive directly to the town of Margaret River and then set the GPS on to Loaring Place.
When you reach the town, at the top of the hill, turn right onto Wallcliffe Road which is the main road going from the Margaret River town right (west) off Bussell Highway, to the famous surf beaches about 10km away at Prevelly Park, the river mouth and Gnarabup. Continue along Wallcliffe Road until it crosses Caves Road, 5km West of the town. Turn Right (North) into Caves Road and only 400m from the Wallcliffe and Caves Road junction you will see the sighn to Loaring Place on the right. We are the only driveway on the left with a sign and a distinctive No. 15.
Caves Road is a magnificent tourist drive that goes 30 mins north to Dunsborough and all the way south to Augusta (30 minutes) through the heart of the Margaret River Wine Region.
If leaving Perth in the morning, why not aim to visit Cape Naturaliste first, and have lunch at Bunkers in Bunker Bay or some of the many wineries along Caves Rd. Then continue down Caves Road, visiting some of the many features, wineries and attractions along the way.
If coming from the south travelling from Nannup or Pemberton via Karridale, come directly up Bussell Highway to the town of Margaret River and turn left at Wallcliffe Rd. If you have time however, visit Cape Leeuwin and Augusta first, then travel up Caves Rd, stopping off at some of the attrations along the way, particularly the Boranup Drive, a scenic drive through a magnificent Karri Forest.
